Color Blind to the Meaning of Life

To best describe how I feel about this whole quest for the meaning of life I will tell you a little story from my life.

I very clearly remember a heath check up in high school. And that was a very long time ago.  The school nurse administered a variety of tests. One of which was a vision test. Part of that was a series of cards that checked for color blindness. She showed a series of cards with colored bubbles. Embedded in each circle was a number. 12, 6, 24 etc. I easily worked my way through the cards until I got to one that showed no number. I stopped. The nurse stared at me. There was no number. "can you see the number?" she asked me.

I shook my head. "There's a number there?"
"yes" she said. "But that's ok. It is ok if you don't see that one. It's pretty common."

I was thunderstruck by this.
How is it possible for something to be there, to be obvious, yet not be seen?

And this summarizes how I feel about  the secret of everything, the real meaning of it all. The thing we cannot see or feel or know.

Is this the thing? Am I missing something? Is there a tool or a thought or a thing that I don't have that prevents me/us from seeing the secret?
Is it right there and clear as day yet unseen?

Exactly right....I rem the first time I used a microscope to view unseen to the human eye, organisms and thought to myself can they see us? or what else cannot be seen with the human eye or human technology?

Although every living creature on this planet living or dead for the most part was born to parents, breathes , eats , Kills, pro creates and dies so why are we as human beings special or more important than all the other earth inhabitants? Most of these creatures also think and have feelings yet we as humans (the chosen ones) have various Gods that apparently look out for us.......

Do you think that perhaps the meaning of life itself is meaningless ... I mean by knowing what life is meant to be, is that going to help you in anyway? I'm fairly young but I consider myself fairly wise because of my nature to be inquisitive. Through my thoughts and my personal life experiences is it possible that the meaning of life is simply to live. It may sound simple but scientifically, if we delve into Biology and evolution then isn't our only reason for living reproducing and maintaining the growth of the human race. OK this isn't the most optimistic view of life but that is our one function and biologically we are wired to protect our own life and our children's. I guess this won;t satisfy you however and the thought that life is what you make of it and we all strive for happiness in life would be a better interpretation. I mean we all want to be happy and our own happiness drives us to be successful in whatever manner necessary.
As you can see I'm also interested in Life as a philosophy, if you are interested you can check my blog which I just started: http://thelittleinquirer.blogspot.com/

Wow.
I feel what your saying. We all need to slow down our hectic lives. Just for a moment every day, we need to think about how blind we are to our purpose but at the same time accept it. We need to open our eyes to all the taken for granted beauty that surrounds us everyday and learn to breath steadily during stressful or unwanted situations. We are all equal, humans, animals, nature, and earth, we are the same and equally important. My purpose, my meaning, is to bring humans together and connect ends that would otherwise continue to drift apart. I hope we can all truly feel equal one day soon

Let us say that you found this secret of life, if that is what you are really looking for. What do you expect it to look like? What would you like it to look like? It may be dumb questions but let me ask you something else. How would you feel if you found the answer? Pretend that tomorrow you find the answer. Just imagine it. So, how do you feel about it? Explore this! I do not know if your imagination is in pictures or in words or other senses (most people think that imagination means pictures but that is not true). So, explore this for a while. Then after a while ask yourself, "what next?".
